The different services that are offered include:

Individual Counseling

Classroom SEL Lessons

Small Group Counseling

Individual Counseling

With individual counseling, I offer students a safe space where they can discuss personal concerns, challenges, or feelings in a private and supportive environment. Areas that we can address are but not limited to:

  • Process emotions (e.g., sadness, anger, anxiety).
  • Develop coping strategies for stress, peer issues, or family changes.
  • Improve problem-solving skills.
  • Set personal goals (academic, social, emotional).
  • Address specific challenges like bullying, grief, or academic struggles.
  • Explore identity and self-awareness. PLEASE NOTE: INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING IS NOT MEANT TO BE LONG TERM; IF A STUDENT NEEDS MORE IN DEPTH COUNSELING, RESOURCES WILL BE SHARED WITH PARENT/GUARDIAN TO HELP THE STUDENT FIND THE LONG TERM CARE THEY NEED.

Classroom Guidance Lessons

Classroom guidance lessons are structured, curriculum-based lessons delivered by school counselors directly to students in their classrooms. They are a proactive way for counselors to reach all students and teach essential skills related to academic, career, and social-emotional development.

Some of the topics that are covered are, but not limited to:

Self Control

Emotions (how to identify and control)

Bullying prevention

Empathy

Friendships (create and keep)

Kindness

Self Esteem

Setting Goals

Conflict Resolution

Health (how to take care of your body, foods, hygiene, etc.)

Students are also taught different strategies such as breathing techniques to help calming down, and positive self talk.

SMALL GROUP COUNSELING

Small group counseling  is a structured, confidential, and supportive environment where the school counselor works with a small number of students (typically 3-8) who share a common concern or goal. There are 4-6 sessions for my groups and consent is needed for students to attend group. Generally students are selected for small group by teachers, guardians, or they can request to be in a group.

Some of the group topics are, but not limited to:

Anxiety (Worry Warriors)

Friendship building

Grief & Loss

Anger Control

Stress Less

In these groups, students are taught different coping skills that will help them how to help themselves.

PLEASE NOTE: SMALL GROUP COUNSELING IS NOT MEANT TO BE LONG TERM; IF A STUDENT NEEDS MORE IN DEPTH COUNSELING, RESOURCES WILL BE SHARED WITH PARENT/GUARDIAN TO HELP THE STUDENT FIND THE LONG TERM CARE THEY NEED.
